Born in South Korea and raised in Los Angeles, Isaac’s connection to the guitar began through church music and evolved into a lifelong pursuit of the instrument’s craft. After studying at the Galloup School of Lutherie in 2007, he apprenticed under renowned luthier Kathy Wingert for nearly a decade. Through that mentorship—and time spent in legendary repair shops like Westwood Music under Fred Walecki—he developed a deep understanding of structure, tone, and the nuances of a well-loved instrument.

Each Isaac Jang guitar is the product of both tradition and innovation. His voicing process blends classic methods like tap tuning and brace carving with modern analysis tools such as Chladni pattern visualization and FFT. Still, the final decisions always come down to feel and sound—what Isaac calls “informed intuition.”

Finished with ultra-thin lacquer to allow for maximum resonance and longevity, his guitars are known for their clarity, balance, and a lively, expressive voice. They are designed to be personal—built to inspire, to connect, and to become the guitar you reach for again and again.
