Electric Guitars

“The best of the classics - wrapped in a Modern Ergonomic package That inspires.”

Dean gordon | Luthier

  • These guitars are built to bridge the gap between past and future. They respect the traditions that have shaped the electric guitar, while introducing thoughtful refinements in ergonomics, balance, and access. Every curve and contour has a reason—comfort, weight relief, or simply to invite your hand to explore higher frets without resistance.

The details are quiet but deliberate: a neck profile that encourages flow, fretwork that eliminates small obstacles you didn’t realize were there, finishes that reveal depth and character under shifting light. Even the wilder designs remain grounded in the simple truth of what a guitar should feel like—responsive, balanced, and ready to translate every idea into sound.

Over time, these instruments become more than tools. They grow with the player, offering a space where tradition and innovation coexist, and where the feel of the guitar inspires you to keep playing.

“Elegant design brought down to earth—wild at first glance, but always grounded in what a guitar is meant to feel like.”

  • He discovered his passion at the age of fourteen, building his first guitar just a year later. By sixteen, he had apprenticed with renowned luthiers Victor Baker and Roger Sadowsky, experiences that sharpened his skills and deepened his understanding of the craft.

In 2012, at just eighteen, Dean launched Dean Gordon Guitars while pursuing a degree in graphic design. At the same time, he served as head repair technician at New York’s iconic Chelsea Guitars, where he refined his knowledge of vintage, modern, and rare instruments. It was during this period that he sold his first custom guitar to Keith Urban, a defining milestone early in his career.

Today, Dean continues to focus on designing and building instruments that bridge tradition and modernity—elegant, ergonomic, and made to inspire. His work appeals to players who value the comfort and familiarity of classic guitars but are ready to explore new possibilities in form and function.

“I build to bridge the gap between players who are stuck in the past and those searching for something new.”
